Hi Sharron McGinty frm Australia. Made scones yesterday. They went sideways & were still damp on the bottom. "what's wrong"??? Generally mk gd scones in a toaster oven although it switches on & off during the cooking process. Recipe is 2-1/2 SR flour, 1/3 cream (generous 1/3) & 2/3 cold water, sultanas, sugar, pinch salt. temp: 230celcius. 20 mins.

hello Sharon. I am an Ozzie too.

I make300gr SR flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder,, pink of salt, 1 cup of milk , 150 gr of butter. Warm 1/2 the milk with the butter. When the butter has melted add the remaining milk. Stir into the flour and cook ina very hot oven.for around 20 minutes. It seems yours were not quite cooked, hence the damp and the *lurch * to the side.
